2013 NFL Draft Pick 5 - Ziggy Ansah, DE, BYU
Throughout this offseason, I projected the Lions to grab an OT with this pick. Especially considering the retirement of Jeff Backus, this just made sense. When they actually get on the clock, the Lions find that all three of the top OTs are gone. As disappointing as this may be, the Lions are now able to look at defense with this pick. The Lions need help in both getting after the QB and in the secondary. I would have taken CB Dee Milliner. Detroit took Ziggy Ansah. This kid is as raw as they come, but he has all of the physical tools to be an impact pass rusher in the NFL. I think this pick comes with some real risk, but if the Lions have patients, they could get a big payoff. I give this pick a B.
